DDT - Styrofoam

It is all over the world. It is a lame petroleum based product. One coffee cup takes 500 years to biodegrade! While I was in Guatamala I noticed, that McDonalds was using styrofoam for everything. In the 1980s the McToxics campaign started which forced McDonalds to stop using the wasteful crap--yet they continue to use it in other parts of the world. WHY? Developing countries are hit especially hard and they certainly don't have the facilities needed to deal with complicated wastes. I mean come on! Side note: Did you know they still use DDT manufactured in the US in other developing countries? It really bugs me.
