N.W.A

N.W.A was a Compton, California-based hip hop group widely considered one of the seminal acts of the gangsta rap sub-genre.Active from 1986 to 1991, the group endured controversy due to the explicit nature of their lyrics. They were subsequently banned from many mainstream U.S. radio stations and even at times prevented from touring - yet the group has still sold over 9 million units in the U.S. alone.

N.W.A released the following albums including N.W.A and the Posse (1989), 100 Miles & Running (1990), N.W.A. Legacy 2 (2002), Niggaz4life (2002), N.W.A. - Greatest Hits (2003), NWA: The best of N.W.A - The Strength Of Street Knowledge (CD/DVD) (2006), NWA: The best of N.W.A - The Strength Of Street Knowledge (2006), Straight Outta Compton: 20th Anniversary Edition (2008) and N.W.A. Family Tree (2008).
