Rush - Lakeside Park Lyrics

Send Lakeside Park Ringtone to your Cell

{Thank you, thank you very much
Wooh, we'd like to do something for you right now
Thats on caressive steel
This is a song that Neo wrote the lyrics for
About a place not too far from where he was born
Not too far from here, as a matter of fact
It's called, "Lakeside Park"}

A midway hawkers calling
"Try your luck with me"
A merry go round wheezing
Same old melody
A thousand ten cent wonders
Who could ask for more
A pocketful of silver, yes
The key to heaven's door

Lakeside Park
Willows in the breeze
Lakeside Park
So many memories
Laughing rides
Midway lights
Shining stars on summer nights

Days of barefoot freedom
Racing with the waves
Nights of starlit secrets
Crackling driftwood flames
Drinking by the lighthouse
Smoking on the pier
Still we saw the magic
Was fading every year

Lakeside Park
Willows in the breeze
Lakeside Park
So many memories
Laughing rides
Midway lights
Shining stars on summer nights

Well, everyone would gather
On the twenty-fourth of May
Sitting in the sand
To watch the fireworks display
Dancing fires on the beach
Singing songs together
Though it's just a memory
Some memories last forever

Great song, a fav, but dude... it's on Caress of Steel and it's written by Neil who grew up in St.Catherine's near Port Dalhousie where Lakeside Park is.
